Level 1 Drought Response

As of April 27, 2026, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has declared a Level 1 drought response statewide due to ongoing drought conditions affecting much of Georgia.

At this time, there are no additional watering restrictions for Newton County residents beyond the statewide year‑round watering schedule, which prohibits outdoor irrigation between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
