Freeze Warning This Weekend🥶

Prepare for Winter Weather! ⛷️❄️☃️

Winter weather can be tough on your home’s plumbing. When the water inside your pipes freezes, it expands. That pressure can cause pipes to burst, leading to costly repairs. The good news is that a few simple precautions can help keep your pipes protected when temperatures drop.

Before Cold Weather Arrives

❄️ Shut Off Outdoor Water – Turn off outdoor faucets and drain hoses.
❄️ Locate Your Water Meter – Find your water meter and ensure you can turn it off.
❄️ Insulate Pipes – Cover exposed pipes in unheated areas (crawlspaces, attics) and insulate outdoor faucets with a spigot cover.

During Freezing Temps

💧 Drip a Faucet – Let cold water drip slowly from a faucet furthest from the main water line to keep water moving.
🤲🏻 Open Cabinets – Keep cabinet doors under sinks open to let warm air reach pipes.
♨️ Maintain Heat – Keep your thermostat at least 55°F or higher to prevent pipes from freezing.
🚪 Close Garage Doors – Keep garage doors closed to protect pipes.
